Linda Smyth

I was born and raised in San Diego.  At the age of 10 I began taking art lessons every Saturday morning in Spanish Village with Loretta McCloud.

My mom was a charter member of the San Diego Flower Arrangers Guild and always encouraged my interest in art.  At SDSU I majored in Graphic communications and worked in this field for several years before taking time off to raise my 2 daughters.

I began painting in watercolors about 30 years ago by taking classes at Grossmont Adult School and from Fran Wylie at Paseo del Rey Church.  I joined the Chula Vista Art Guild 20 years ago. I’ve been a member of Gallery 23 in Spanish Village for about 10 years and enjoy the friendship of the other artists here.

My style is realistic and most of my subjects come from nature, birds, landscapes, and flowers.
