Kathryn Gail Ackley

Ms. Ackley is a mixed media artist working mostly in acrylics on paper and on canvas.

Her current work revolves around three distinct themes, a series of “portraits” of birds which are found along our rivers and on the coast, more abstract landscapes, and whimsical pieces drawn from old family photos. Each of these themes explore connections. Shore birds exist in the space between the water and the sky. Sea and earth, trees reaching up toward the sky connect aspects of our environment. Universal connections of families can be seen in the ways we touch, and in the spaces between us. Chaos and order, grace and stumbling beauty display the various connections that hold our world together.
