Joan Nies

Joan Nies Artist,  San Diego

Joan is originally from Minnesota where she grew up in a small town in a farming community. 

She received a Bachelors in Fine Art from St Cloud University.

The images that are represented in her work are of fields, trees, barns, rivers and the seasons. 

Many of her current works are of the California Coast and the Missions.

She enjoys painting on location, capturing the light and feelings of the day.

Joan favorite artists are James Whistler and  Edward Hopper. 

She resides in Coronado, Ca.
